As Izmir University of Economics Creative Economy Research and Application Center, as you all know, the Creative Campus Program, prepared within the scope of the 2K: Creative Campus Creativity Network project, which we set out to increase awareness on creative industries & creative economy at the K12 level and to contribute to the development of creative entrepreneurship, as you all know, İzmir Private Campus Program is in its first year. It is applied in college. So what is this creative campus, what do we aim for for the future of education, why should you be with us, let's talk about them today.
In our opinion, Creative Campus; It is a productive field that focuses on the process and experience, based on the generation of interdisciplinary innovative ideas, using future technologies, developing CreaTech* competencies, training creative entrepreneurs inspired by culture.
Interdisciplinarity is an approach that utilizes the methods, knowledge, tools and experience of more than one discipline. An example of an interdisciplinary study is the production of a project by a pianist on Alzheimer's disease together with a neurologist. Interdisciplinary cooperation, which supports creativity and innovative perspective and increases its effectiveness, makes reference to co-creation. The co-creation process, which focuses on collective creativity rather than individual creativity, is also used as a learning method. On the other hand; The co-creation approach, which supports the exchange of knowledge, skills and culture, fosters a sense of solidarity.
Preparing for the future by developing digital skills is as important as creativity. It is not difficult to predict the importance of digital technologies in the future, in this period when we are witnessing developments in the virtual environment such as NFT and Metaverse. This is exactly why the Creative Campus program, which adopts a process and experience-oriented approach, unlike the traditional system that is result and success-oriented, aims to raise a productive generation who is not afraid of making mistakes and follows innovations.
Aiming to help every educator and student discover themselves, their potential and areas of interest by making use of multiple and creative learning styles with the principle of inclusion, the Creative Campus Program always keeps productivity and curiosity in its focus, and by opening a free expression space in education through technology, aims to ensure that they are active and participatory at every stage.
